Who Can Play?
ANYONE! Regardless of skill, gender or experience level Ball Hockey is for you; Our leagues are designed to balance all different skill sets amongst all the teams we create. You can register as an individual or with a group of friends and play on the same team

Benefits of Ball Hockey
- Lower Registration Fees: Fees are about 2 to 3 times less than minor hockey or adult rec ice hockey
- Less costs associated due to minimal equipment
- Skating Eliminated: Ball hockey is played on foot, making it accessible to anyone
- Conditioning: This is fun way to get in shape for anyone
- Young Aspiring Hockey Players: We have leagues for players ages 4 and up, which gives parents an opportunity to put their young kids in to try the sport and see if they enjoy the game of hockey before having to financially commit to the costs associated with ice hockey (ie: equipment and registration)
- Ice hockey Player Benefits: Improved Conditioning, stickhandling, hand-eye coordination and game sense.
- A great way to meet new friends, that share a common interest through a sport

SECTION 4: SCHEDULING

Locations
Games will be played at Fairview Arena (first priority), if there is additional space required we will use the Stockade building at the Kinetic Park.

Days of Week: Days are set (see above list), unless, there are too many teams or odd number of teams in an age category, in which case an alternative date may be required.

Times: Times are based on age category
youngest = earliest time, older groups = later time

SECTION 5: REGISTRATION TYPES

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION (single player registration)
This method of registration is for those participants wanting to join the league as an individual, do not have a team and would like to be placed on team in a division relative to their skill level or competitive interest (based on the collective skill of all registrants)

GROUP REGISTRATION  (Max 3 players)

This method of registration is for those participants wanting to join the league with a friend or two as a group and be placed on same team together. The maximum number of players is a group would be 3.

SECTION 6: EVALUATIONS AND TEAM CREATION

Teams are designed after the registration deadline, we then begin evaluating players over the first three games of the season.
Once these games are completed, if needed, we restructure any teams that we feel need to be re-balanced.
- We will be keeping groups that have registered together on the same team, even after we re-balance division.

A more detailed version of the process is as follows:

Building Teams
Gather Registration Data: We review all information provided from participants during their online registration process, this includes: Highest level of ice hockey, age, who they have requested to play with, etc

Gather Statistical Data. We then search all past players previous statistics online and compare them

Coaches Evaluations. As of 2018, we have begun contacting coaches to get a more detailed assessment of players, which will be the most helpful resource of building teams in the 2019 season.

After we have created our teams, we then schedule our regular season with the first three games being an evaluation.

Evaluation Games
The first three games of the year are also an evaluation process; Once, these games are completed we reassess our team creation and try and make whatever changes are needed to balance the league.
